It’s been about two weeks since band ended. Well, we WON FIRST PLACE, BABY! At the Stampede, there’s a competition called Showbands Live! Every year we participate in it. I don’t think we’ve won in a long time. I totally think we deserved first place though. I can’t believe I was a part of something like this. I was estatic when they announced Stetsons placed second. It meant that we were first, with a score of 88/100!
Watch it!
After all of this, there was age out. Age out is the ceremony when the grade twelves leave the band. All the tens and elevens stand in a circle around the seniors and play the show. It was emotional. I didn’t cry until after though. I made Tim (huge manly senior tuba player) cry. He came over and hugged me and I cried. So he then cried. I never thought he’d ever cry.
I cried on the bus ride back to the school. I cried at the school. I cried at home. I think I cried mostly because of my flute seniors… And my stupid ex. But no worries, I’m over that now.
Summer is boring without band. But I like sleeping in. I’ve been writing a lot lately. Check out my stories and such.
